Qualia Running Slow? 5 Fixes That Actually Work
80% of Qualia performance complaints we see are solved by just one of these five fixes. Start with #2 — it's the most common culprit.
1. Check Your Browser
Qualia runs best in Google Chrome with no more than 10-15 tabs open. Other browsers can cause rendering issues and slowdowns. Clear your cache and cookies monthly, and make sure Chrome is updated to the latest version.
2. Upgrade Your RAM
If your computer has 8GB of RAM, Qualia will struggle — especially when you have Outlook, Chrome, and other apps running simultaneously. We recommend 16GB minimum for any workstation running Qualia. This single upgrade often solves 80% of performance complaints. Our managed IT services include hardware assessments to identify these bottlenecks.
3. Check Your Internet Speed
Qualia is cloud-based, so your internet speed matters. For a 15-user office, we recommend minimum 100 Mbps upload and 500 Mbps download. Run a speed test at speedtest.net — if you're below these thresholds, talk to your ISP about upgrading.
4. Disable Unnecessary Browser Extensions
Browser extensions — especially ad blockers, VPNs, and security extensions — can interfere with Qualia. Try running Qualia in an incognito window. If it's faster, an extension is the culprit. Disable them one by one to find the offender.
5. Replace Old Hardware
Computers older than 5 years often can't keep up with modern cloud applications. If your machine has a traditional hard drive (HDD), upgrading to a solid-state drive (SSD) can make it feel brand new. But if the machine is truly ancient, it's time for a replacement.
Still Slow?
If you've tried all five and Qualia is still sluggish, the issue might be deeper — network configuration, DNS settings, or a Qualia-side problem that needs escalation. That's where we come in.
